Your Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy session with Mima begins with a discussion of your current life situation, relational context, and physical well-being. The information you share about your physical body and current concerns helps to inform Mima of the yoga postures that may be beneficial or facilitative in meeting your needs.

Once you have had a chance to explore your intention (what you would like to receive), Mima will gently move and support your body through a sequence of selected yoga postures. Through these assisted postures and guided breathing, you are safely brought to your edge of sensation - the amount of physical, mental or emotional sensation that is interesting or intriguing to you. Here, with focused awareness and Mima’s support you enter into a dialogue. The unique combination of postures, practitioner presence, and self–directed dialogue can create an opportunity for deep exploration and self-reflection.

Each session concludes with an integration period, or chance to review what you found meaningful or stood out as significant throughout your experience. This review assists you in processing and exploring ways you can bring your insights into action in your personal and daily life. By simply tuning in and exploring your experience, new perceptions, messages, and ideas may arise that lead to deeper self-knowledge.

Sessions are tailored to meet your individual needs regardless of your yoga experience or level of flexibility or physical condition. Sessions are 60 minutes. Clients remain fully clothed and should wear comfortable loose clothing. No experience in yoga is necessary to fully benefit from this approach.
